Moles Club, Bath, on a Monday night turned into a New York beatnik bar with candlelit tables sprawling across the usual dance floor. Bob Slayer, manager of Japanese Rock band Electric Eel Shock, commenced to tear it apart with his chaotic, improvised style and crazily rude, in your face way – akin maybe to Frankie Boyle, definitely Henry Rollins, but far more drunk and disorderly. He introduced his tour partner Jimbo, an Aussie comic who hilariously turned worldly observations on their head while obsessing over sexual acts with goats.
Following the comedy was what turned out to be a fantastic noise groove trio, Dynamite Pussy Club. What can you do with two guitars and a drummer? Fling incredibly catchy riff making, intelligent noise sculpting and disco cross garage drumming together, top it off with some expertly sung slogans and you've got a dynamite... band! Not bad for a butcher, a bookseller and a barman!
